Thank you Coach Martin, Coach Sluder, TCR soccer players, and parents for coordinating a ‘thank you’ for our Seniors: Katie, Gloria, Caroline, and Nola!
This season – or lack thereof – is not only a loss of great competition, great opportunity to shine (for older players AND new), but also a loss of spending time with our best friends .. with our mentors .. with our extended family. All of the girls experienced this, and now we get to look to the future.
As Coach Martin said today, we “..have a bigger family”.
Last night, our Rams fought hard against Reynolds in a driving rain, but fell in the last few minutes 3-2. Focus now turns to the State tournament. The seeding will happen Monday, Nov 4, and the first round begins on Wednesday, Nov 6. As of October 28 (and prior to last night’s loss), TCR was ranked #3 in the state (rankings can be found HERE).
I will post on tcrsoccer.com as soon as I learn our opponent(s).
Our Rams remain undefeated in the conference with yesterday’s win over Asheville. Not only did Jonah Nus get 8 saves, he also had an assist!
Congratulations to our Rams for continuing their great season. The Rams are two games up on the closest team in the conference (AC Reynolds, who is 7-2 in conference play so far – and you can find the Citizen-Times write-up on TC’s win in PKs over Reynolds HERE).
Almost halfway through the season, our Rams are 5-0 in the conference. This great start is well earned as there is a lot of soccer talent in WNC. The adjusted Maxpreps ranking kept by the NCHSAA shows TCR as ranked #5 in the state 3A competition. That list can be found HERE.
